Riyadh, Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) Governor Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Abdulkareem and Al-Jouf University President Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of enhancing and facilitating means of exchanging expertise and knowledge between the two sides, expanding cooperation fields in a way that enables developing, conducting and following up on research and training projects related to the industry of water desalination.
This memorandum is part of SWCC’s commitment to building fruitful strategic partnerships with Saudi universities, enhancing cooperation means in fields of using renewable energy in water desalination, and holding joint applied research projects that allow the utilization of human and material resources and scientific capacities of both sides.
The deal also stipulates cooperation in fields related to organizing scientific symposiums and conferences, exchanging visits by experts, researchers and students, in addition to providing field cooperative training for the university students, exchanging scientific information, resources and publications, and holding joint training programs.
It is worth mentioning that SWCC tops the world in the desalination industry with the biggest production volume of 5.9 million cubic meters of daily desalinated water and offers, in harmony with its permanent strategic aspiration to enhance water security, innovative solutions that contribute to building up national expertise and localizing the national content, as well as supporting research innovation and development that are related to the actual needs of the water sector so as to enable it to implement its effective role in meeting the development requirements and realizing the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.
