BAGHDAD, The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing the neutrality of the armed forces and keep them away from political differences and conflicts and to do their work to protect citizens.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister Office said that Al- "Abadi met with the security and military leaders at the joint Operations Headquarters and exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. He congratulated them on this Eid, which is the first Eid after liberating the entire Iraqi territory from the Daesh terrorist gangs and achieving victory thanks to our heroes, martyrs, Mr. Sistani fatwa, indicating that we faced an existential challenge but we came out stronger and more united.
He renewed his assertion that the weapons are in the hands of the state and that any weapon outside this framework is considered a weapon of chaos and that work is under way to limit weapons.
Al-Abadi said that the second battle is with corruption, and the security establishment must be removed from any aspect of corruption and that it should remain fair and above suspicions, stressing that the investigation is being carried out in any suspicion.
He stressed the importance of the intelligence effort and its very important role during the next phase and the pursuit of terrorist cells.
