NATO Agrees To Sent A Mission To Train Iraqi Forces , Led By Canada

BAGHDAD, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that NATO agreed to form a non-combat mission in Iraq led by Canada to train Iraqi forces.

"We have begun to form a new training mission in Iraq, and I welcome the fact that Canada has agreed to lead it," Stoltenberg told reporters at the conclusion of the NATO summit in Brussels.

The Secretary of NATO spoke on the eve of the summit on the new NATO mission in Iraq, which will contribute to prevent the return of terrorism to Iraq.

He noted that the training mission in Iraq will include hundreds of NATO trainers and will help to establish new military schools and increase the professional capabilities of Iraqi forces.
