Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri received today at the Center House the Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Abdellatif Derian.
After the meeting, Mufti Derian said: "Today's meeting with the Prime Minister-designate is among the continuous meetings between us. It was fruitful and productive and we discussed the situation in the country and Islamic issues. Premier Hariri is a guarantee for Lebanon and we trust him. He is the Prime Minister-designate in charge of forming the government. He is the only person in charge of this mission, in consultation with President Michel Aoun and Speaker Nabih Berri. The atmosphere during the meeting was positive and reassuring. The Lebanese and all political parties are demanding the acceleration of the formation of the government. I support this demand, but the political parties and parliamentary blocs should also facilitate the formation of this government. We in Lebanon agreement that this country is built and preserved thanks to the constructive dialogue that is for the benefit of Lebanon and the Lebanese. I hope all political parties would stop arguing, to facilitate the formation of the government. I asked the Prime Minister about the date of the formation and he told me what I always say: "Be optimistic."
Hariri also received the World Health Organization WHO new Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al-Mandhari and the organization's representative in Lebanon Iman Shankiti.
