Machnouk holds tete a tete meeting with his Saudi counterpart on current developments

Caretaker Interior and Municipalities Minister, Nouhad Machnouk, currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, held a meeting on Tuesday afternoon with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef, at the latter's summer palace in Jeddah.

Minister Machnouk was welcomed by senior Saudi officials of the Ministry of the Interior and the National Security Service.

Following an extended meeting between the Lebanese and Saudi delegations, a one-on-one meeting was held between Machnouk and Prince Nayef, on the Lebanese-Saudi relations and most recent political developments in Lebanon and the broader region.

The Saudi official underlined the Kingdom's keenness on Lebanon's stability.

The meeting also took up the convening of the Lebanese-Saudi Council soon after the formation of the new government in Lebanon.

Prince Abdulaziz hosted a lunch banquet in Machnouk's honor, attended by senior Saudi security officials and Machnouk's accompanying delegation.

Machnouk is expected back in Beirut this evening, after performing the Umra rituals in the holy city of Mecca last evening.
