Ferzli calls on ‘Strong Lebanon’ to join opposition to surpass cabinet formation hurdles

Deputy House Speaker, Elie Ferzli, on Monday disclosed an intention to propose shifting "Strong Lebanon" parliamentary bloc to the political opposition ranks in case of refusal of the formation of a majority government. Ferzli deemed this a way to help the Prime Minister-designate surpass all the cabinet formation hurdles.

Considering his initiative negotiable, Ferzli told the Voice of Lebanon radio station that his plan aimed to prevent the postponement of governmental birth until next autumn.

"If opposition doesn't exist in a democratic system, efforts should be exerted to create one; a majority or minority government should be formed," he said, warning from leaving the country as a prey to foreign goals, which aim at sapping the electoral results and defeating the presidential term.
