Canada Made Serious Mistakes Led to Stand-off -Egyptian International Law Expert Says

Cairo, Egyptian professor of International Law and the member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Relations Dr. Ayman Salama, described Canada's departure from adopted diplomatic rules as unacceptable, pointing out that submission of protests and claims through tweets, instead of official channels among sovereign nations is an inappropriate act, for it constitutes dangerous precedent in diplomatic law and international relations.

Dr. Salama explained that the serious mistakes made by Canada were not limited to the aforementioned passage only, but also it overlooked that Saudi Arabia is the only Islamic country enjoying a special protocol from all non-Muslim countries, in recognition of the great symbolic position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Omission of these realities and facts, in international relations would lead states and international community to serious repercussions, he warned to conclude.
