Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received the new International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in the Middle East executive director Lieutenant General Tom Beckett at Al-Safriya Palace.
HM the King welcomed Lt.Gen. Beckett and hailed cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the think tank, stressing fruiful coordination in preparing and organising the Manama Dialogue, which is considered one of leading political and intellectual events that attract annually political, diplomatic and economic elites and decision-makers from all over the world to discuss contemporary issues.
The Kingdom of Bahrain hosts the Manama Dialogue out of its firm belief in the importance of dialogue as the most viable means to consolidate security and stability in the region.
He underscored the importance of holding such international conferences which represent a promising opportunity for communication between civilisations and cultures, debating ideas and exchanging expertise which benefit shared interests.
HM the King hailed the success of the previous editions of Manama dialogue which enabled many powers and parties to settle certain pending issues, hailing positive cooperation to confront current regional challenges.
He wished success to the 14th edition of Manama Dialogue, which will be convened this year to discuss more important Arab and International issues.
The new IISS executive director expressed thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for providing all facilities and capabilities to host the Manama Dialogue and ensure its success, as a key platform to debate crucial ideas and visions.
