Lebanese Democratic Party leader, Talal Erslan, currently on a visit to Russia, met Wednesday with Deputy Russian Foreign Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Moscow.
Both sides discussed the general situation in the region and Lebanon.
For his part, Bogdanov praised the "friendly" meeting with Erslan, saying it was "an opportunity to talk about ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange relations between the two countries."
Commenting on Russian policy towards Lebanon, Bogdanov pointed out that "Russia gives great importance to the positions of the Lebanese in terms of finding appropriate solutions for the Lebanese people in the political, economic and social aspects caused by the presence of Syrian refugees in large numbers."
In turn, Erslan stressed that the role of Russia was a turning point in restoring international balance in the world.
He concluded by saying: "The Russian role is very appreciated and is an integral part of our honor in this nation and we consider ourselves in one trench and in one fate and one battle."
