German ambassador pays farewell visit to Ibrahim

General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim, on Thursday welcomed outgoing German Ambassador to Lebanon, Martin Huth, who came on a farewell visit upon the end of his diplomatic mission in Lebanon.

The visit was a chance to dwell on most recent political developments.

Major General Ibrahim wished the outgoing ambassador success in his new mission.

Ibrahim then met with the Brazilian State Minister for Strategic Affairs, Hussein Kalout, in the presence of Brazil's Ambassador to Lebanon, Georges Geraldo Qadri.

Talks reportedly touched on the situation of the Lebanese community in Brazil and the tasks of the Brazilian force participating in the UNIFIL naval force and ways of coordination between the Directorate and the Brazilian security services.

This afternoon, Ibrahim welcomed the UNHCR representative in Lebanon, Mireille Girard, with whom he discussed the existing cooperation between the General Security and UNHCR on the issue of the displaced Syrians.
