Basra, Dozens of citizens in the area of Karmat Ali, in the area of Haritha north of Basra, cut off Baghdad Road to protest the deterioration of services and water pollution and salinity.

The citizens cut the main road towards Baghdad back and forth, demanding the government to provide services and improve the quality of water, stressing their continued demonstration until the attention of the federal government to maintain and implement its promises on the ground.

The residents of the Haritha area organized last night a peaceful demonstration from the neighborhood of Al-Nasr towards the water project of Basra, the great demand to speed up the opening of the project, which has been suspended for some time, despite promises by the Ministry of Water Resources to open in July.
