BAGHDAD, Bahrain said its historical ties with Iraq are important because they represent a strong basis for the success of work in various fields.
"The Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry, Nizar al-Khairallah, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak al-Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, during his visit to Manama to attend the conference of the dialogue," a Foreign Ministry statement said.
Mohammed bin Mubarak spoke of the love and pride of the Kingdom of Bahrain represented by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Bahraini people for the government and people of Iraq and considered the presence of Iraq and its high participation in the conference an important issue to make his voice heard.
Sheikh Khalifa praised the formation of the Iraqi government and referred to the relations between Iraq and Bahrain as historical relations rooted in this issue.
For his part, the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed his pleasure to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain and the welcome and hospitality he received and the keenness to develop bilateral relations, whether from the King of Bahrain or the Bahraini Government. He also welcomed the King of Bahrain during his meeting with delegations participating in the Manama Dialogue Conference, in addition to the Political leaderships in the Kingdom.
