UAE celebrates Flag Day

Abu Dhabi, Her Highness Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the UAE's General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), said that the flag of the UAE is a national symbol of the country and its citizens, who have raised it high to express their appreciation.

In her speech marking "Flag Day," observed on November 3 and which celebrates the anniversary of the accession of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to power, Shaikha Fatima said that the country's flag represents its pride, sovereignty and unity, UAE News Agency (WAM) reported.

She added that the Founder of the country, the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, taught the country that the flag is a symbol of pride and nothing rises above it, and the wise leadership followed his path and encouraged a love for the country among its citizens.
