President: Iraq is looking to expand Relations With India And benefit From Its Expertise In Various Fields

BAGHDAD, President Barham Saleh said Iraq is seeking to expand its relations with India and benefit from its expertise in various fields.

A presidential statement said Saleh met in the Salam Palace in Baghdad, Indian Ambassador Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit, who carried a letter from Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, congratulating him on his assumption of the post of President of the Republic. He also stressed the need to strengthen historical relations with Iraq."

During the meeting, the President of the Republic referred to the depth of the historical friendship relations with India, stressing Iraq's aspiration to develop the base of these close relations between the two friendly countries in all fields, especially economic, trade, cultural and educational.

He also stressed that "Iraq looks forward to expanding its relations with the Republic of India and to benefit from its expertise in various fields."
