/ 52/ illegal immigrants, including 24 Iraqis, were arrested near the Turkish coast

BAGHDAD, Turkish security forces have arrested 52 illegal immigrants in the Aegean Sea as they try to cross into Greece.

According to Turkish media, "the leadership of the Turkish coast security forces, arrested on Sunday morning those illegal immigrants who are traveling on a boat near the coast of the Ekingik region in the Turkish province of Mugla."

After searching the boat, the migrants were 24 Iraqis, seven Somalis, five Afghans, five Palestinians, nine Syrians and two Iranians, who were handed over to the Turkish Immigration Office.
