BAGHDAD, The head of the state of law coalition Nuri al-Maliki called on Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi to create a Ministry for Women and Childhood.
He said in a tweet on Twitter that "the creation of the Ministry comes in order to meet the aspirations of Iraqi women and benefit from their energies in education and reconstruction."
"We hope that all political forces will support this proposal, which is consistent with the constitution and the people's will to progress in building a good family and society," al-Maliki said.
He stressed that the aspiration of Iraqis to the national role of women through participation in the political process and community affairs and in order that the Iraqi women take their role in building the human being and the nation."
