Riachy at ‘Free Minds Connected’ Conference Opening: We will turn barriers into wall of support to build a bridge towards freedom and communication

Caretaker Information Minister, Melhem Riachy, highlighted Saturday the importance of working to achieve the message of Lebanon, namely to build bridges and turn every barrier along the way into a wall of support towards reaching freedom and communication, and towards a Lebanese productivity for the best Lebanese minds."

"Free minds communication is a strong, deep and gentle expression that reflects an inner freedom that no one can deprive us of, and the ability to communicate that no one can take away from us...and the presence of minds, many of which unfortunately migrate, yet they remain connected with their motherland," Riachy said.

His words came during the seventh edition of the "Free Minds Connected" Conference organized by the May Chidiac Foundation, in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, which opened its woks this morning at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut.

"Lebanon is larger than all of us and fits all of us," Riachy went on, adding that in all sadness, sorrow and darkness, we always see light and reflect on the future with hope.

He concluded by quoting a Japanese scholar as saying, "From now until 20 years ahead, the robot will control all the mechanical and industrial processes in the world...Yet, whoever believes that the time of culture, thought, literature, poetry, theater, art and philosophy has gone has to know that this time will return, and the human being will be the basis since the robot will have the second role."
