An Iranian military commander: We will roll the noses of the enemies into the waters of the Gulf

BAGHDAD, The Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army for coordination affairs, Admiral Habibullah Sayyari, pledged that his country's forces would roll the enemies' nose in the Gulf waters if they tried to threaten the Islamic Republic.

Sayyari said in a speech on Thursday that the Gulf is so important that the world is keen to establish its presence, but history has shown that we will always stand up to the enemies' ambitions."

He vowed that Iran would soak the "noses of the enemies." "The more a country enjoys a greater prestige, the more proud and capable its people feel," he said. "We must present our religious and revolutionary values to the world."

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian army promised the military force one of the most important elements of the national force, which pushed the group "1 + 5" to sit around the negotiating table with Iran, to agree on its nuclear program.

The comments came at a time when tension between Iran and the United States is growing significantly, following US President Donald Trump's decision in May 2018 to get out of the nuclear deal and re-impose economic sanctions on Tehran with the application of new restrictive measures, despite the opposition of other parties to the agreement to this step, while Saudi Arabia welcomed this step, which Iran considers as its biggest enemy in the region.
