Tokyo, Shares advanced across Asia on Tuesday, AP reported.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 gained 1.8% to 22,596.02 and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong added 2.2% to 24,997.25. Sydney’s S&P ASX 200 jumped 2.1% to 6,049.60 and the Kospi in Seoul picked up 1.1% to 2,276.79. The Shanghai Composite index edged 0.5% higher to 3,383.66.
Benchmark U.S. crude lost 33 cents to $40.68 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It rose 1.8% to settle at $41.01 per barrel on Monday. Brent crude, the international standard, slipped 39 cents to $43.76. It climbed 1.4% to $44.15 per barrel on Monday.
The U.S. dollar bought 106.09 Japanese yen, up from 105.96 yen late Monday. The euro rose to $1.1770 from $1.1765.
