Baghdad The Head of the Border Ports Authority, Dr. Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, held a consultative meeting with the Director General of the General Authority for Customs and the General Director of the Land Transport Company to discuss the preparations made for the opening of the Arar border crossing in front of commercial traffic and travelers with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, according to a statement by the Authority, that the National Iraqi News Agency /NINA/ received a copy of it , said that the technical and administrative aspects that will be adopted to ensure the safety of procedures and the smooth flow of trade and travelers exchange and activate this commercial cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
It was agreed during the meeting to send a technical team tomorrow, August 11, from the relevant departments to the Arar port to closely examine the joints of the infrastructure and the needs that must be met and completed as soon as possible, as well as to come up with recommendations upon which to inform the Saudi side of the date of the official opening of the border crossing.
The Authority affirmed its openness to brotherly neighboring countries and the strengthening of cooperation in various fields in order to achieve the principle of advancing economic reality and strengthening rapprochement among peoples.
