This protest move comes within the framework of measures launched by the municipality, dignitaries, residents, civil society organizations and activists, a few days ago, to express their refusal to establish a landfill for waste in the outskirts of the town, as suggested, due to the health and environmental impact it will have on the residents, and the pollution it will cause to the underground water wells and plantation crops.

The Saudi Royal Court announced, in a statement today, Sunday, the passing of Prince Talal bin Fahd bin Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud. According to "Russia Today" news agency, the Saudi Court said in the statement: "Prince Talal bin Fahd bin Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud has moved outside the Kingdom to the mercy of God Almighty." It added, "He will be prayed for tomorrow, Monday, after the evening prayer, at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in the city of Riyadh."

This aid comes as part of the humanitarian aid provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, in the Republic of Sudan to achieve food security and alleviate the suffering of the needy.

Supreme Court: Tomorrow is 1st Day of Dhu Al-Hijjah

The Supreme Court announced today that tomorrow, Monday, will be the first day of Dhu Al-Hijjah, according to the Umm al-Qura calendar, corresponding to June 19, 2023, as the crescent of the month of Dhu Al-Hijjah was sighted today.

The Supreme Court decided that standing at Arafat shall be on Tuesday, the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah for this Year, 1444 AH, corresponding to June 27, 2023, and the blessed Eid al-Adha shall be on the following day, Wednesday.

Saudi Export-Import Bank Participates in TXF Foundation’s Annual Conference in Portugal

Demonstrating its crucial role in establishing international partnerships and supporting Saudi non-oil exports, Saudi EXIM Bank participated in the annual TXF conference held in Lisbon, Portugal, from June 15-16, 2023.

The TXF conference, a global event attracting experts and enthusiasts in export financing, agencies, and global projects, welcomed participation from over 50 countries. The conference brought together various ministers, CEOs, and key investors. Over the two days, the event featured a series of discussions and workshops led by 130 speakers. In addition, the conference celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special event.

Represented by its CEO, Eng. Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalb, Saudi EXIM Bank participated in a panel discussion on export financing and product innovation. The CEO highlighted the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, emphasizing the importance of diversifying the country's economy through the strengthening of Saudi exports.

During the panel discussion, it was emphasized that the Saudi EXIM Bank plays a significant role in diversifying the economy and increasing non-oil exports. The CEO expressed the bank's primary objective of ensuring that no cross-border export transaction from Saudi Arabia fails due to a lack of insurance or financing. He also emphasized the wide range of investment opportunities available in various sectors to contribute to the national Giga projects.

It is worth noting that the Saudi Export-Import Bank was established in February 2020. It is dedicated to bolstering the Saudi non-oil economy in international markets by addressing financing gaps and mitigating risks faced by exporters. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to increase the proportion of non-oil exports to 50% of the gross domestic product by 2030.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) today announced the establishment of the Pharmaceutical Investment Company (Lifera), a commercial-scale contract development and manufacturing organization, to enable the growth of the local biopharmaceutical industry, strengthen national resilience, and supporting Saudi Arabia’s position as a global pharmaceutical manufacturing destination.

Lifera intends to focus on manufacturing life-saving and essential pharmaceutical products, including insulins, vaccines, plasma therapeutics, monoclonal antibodies, cell and gene therapies, and innovative small molecules. The company will create partnerships with leading local and international companies and attract targeted investments in order to grow local capacity and drive the development of domestic manufacturing in this sector.

The global healthcare market is expected to develop rapidly over the next decade with innovation in medicines and therapies, advances in precision medicine, genomics and the wide range of treatment modalities available. Lifera aims to drive formulation development, medicine development and manufacturing, as well as testing services for sterile pharmaceutical products. These high-value services play a key role in helping improve access to, and the security of, therapies that address pressing healthcare needs of the Saudi and global population.

Iraq and China discuss strengthening bilateral relations and issues of common concern

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and Legal Affairs, Omar Al-Barzanji, received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Iraq, Sui Wei, in his office at the Ministry's headquarters, today, Sunday.

A statement by the Ministry stated that during the meeting, they discussed the relations between the two friendly countries and the most important issues of common concern. The meeting also dealt with issues of mutual support between the two friendly countries in international organizations, the United Nations, the FAO and the Human Rights Council.

At the end of the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador gave the agent a memorial gift on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Iraq and China, as relations between the two friendly countries were established in 1958.

Al-Lami told the official News Agency, "The Syndicate supports the work of the Women's Committee, in the curriculum that it prepared for the current season, which starts this week after the end of the Press Day celebrations."

Al-Lami pointed out that "the Women's Affairs Committee of the Syndicate of Journalists has prepared a curriculum full of events and activities, which includes seminars, festivals and panel discussions, stemming from vital professional issues and current problems that need to be resolved, deepened, addressed or evaluated; therefore we dedicate energies to reach this level."
