A Delegation From The Sudanese Army Heads To Saudi Arabia To Discuss The Details Of The Truce With The Rapid Support Forces

The General Command of the Armed Forces in Sudan issued today, Friday, a statement revealing that a delegation representing the army was heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The office of the official spokesman for the armed forces said in the statement: “Within the framework of the Saudi-American initiative that was put forward since the beginning of the crisis, a delegation of the Sudanese armed forces left to Jeddah this evening to discuss the details of the armistice that is being renewed in order to secure and create appropriate conditions to deal with the humanitarian aspects of the Sudanese in light of the current situation."

On Thursday evening, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces announced, in two statements, their agreement to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional 72 hours, based on US-Saudi endeavors.

Since last April 15, a number of Sudanese states have witnessed large-scale clashes between the army, led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the " Rapid Support Forces" led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, "Hamidati".
