Al-Falih Chairs First Meeting of Saudi-Qatari Investment, Energy, Infrastructure Committee

The Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, chaired yesterday the Saudi side in the first meeting of the Investment, Energy, and Infrastructure Committee emanating from the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.

CEO of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud chaired the Qatari side at the meeting, which was held in Doha with the participation of several representatives of the government and private sectors.

The meeting sought to discuss issues related to enhancing cooperation in various fields between the two brotherly countries.

The meeting also reviewed the most prominent developments of the initiatives within the committee's work and the task forces' efforts to achieve more integration between the two brotherly countries.

Moreover, the participants held discussions on a number of topics that aim to strengthen the bilateral relations and provide the required support to develop investments.

The two sides also highlighted the importance of boosting investment exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar through qualitative projects in vital sectors to provide a safe investment environment for investors in the two countries.

Meanwhile, Minister Al-Falih also met with Qatar Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Thani.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed several issues related to enhancing economic cooperation, investments, and integration in the aspects of mutual concern in a way that serves the aspirations of the two leaderships.

The Investment Minister also participated in a session dubbed "Reengineering Globalization" as part of the Qatar Economic Forum held in Doha from May 23-25.

On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Al-Falih held a series of bilateral meetings with government and private sectors representatives, where he discussed investment partnership between the two brotherly countries.
