BAGHDAD, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Mahdi Al-Alaq confirmed that Japan's policy toward Iraq, both in relief and humanitarian aid, during Daesh time, was a great record, stressing Iraq is keen to maintain relations with Japan in the best way.
During his meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Fumio Iwai on the occasion of the end of his duties in the country, Al-Aalq expressed his appreciation for the ambassador's continuous efforts to strengthen the relations between Japan and Iraq, praising his distinguished role throughout his official and popular service.
For his part, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Iraqi government in general, and the Secretary-General in particular for the support and cooperation, which he touched during his term.
According to the statement, Al-Aalq presented the Japanese Ambassador with a commemorative shield that reflects Iraq's civilization, authenticity and historical depth.
