Former President Michel Sleiman on Thursday welcomed British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hugo Shorter, who paid him a farewell visit upon winding up his mission in Lebanon.
The visit was a chance to dwell on the current situation on the international arena, with both sides emphasizing the need to dissociate Lebanon from regional conflicts.
On the other hand, Sleiman presided over the periodic meeting of the "Republic Gathering."
The Gathering sounded the alarm on the gravity of the current economic situation and the low growth rate resulting from the lack of confidence in the adopted policies.
