Guests of Honours have continued to flow to watch games of the the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League which is held under patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in partnership with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, from 24th June to 9th August. The league is part of HH Shaikh Khalid's initiatives in support of youth in sports and humanitarian fields and witnessed an active attendance of a number of sports personnel from various sports and youth organisations.
The league was visited by Rashid Juma Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Halat Al-Naim and Al-Salta Youth Centre and its Treasurer Abdulla Rabea Al Shaikh, President of A'ali Club Hussain Al-Aali, President of Al Naser Club AbdulamirAttiyahJassim, President of NabihSaleh Club Sadiq Ahmed Darwish, President of Smaheej Club Mohamed Ibrahim Hassan, former international players Bader Sawar and Ghazi Al Kuwari, and National Coach Ali Ashour.
This year's league is held with the wide participation of youth centers, national clubs, young women, disabled individuals, ministries and communities.
Aali Club President, Hussain Al-Aali, expressed his happiness to be among the Kingdom's youth, during the sidelines of his visit to the exhibition and competitions of the league.
He said, "The initiatives of HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa cover all aspects and include all segments of society, especially with the broad range of participation from various bodies and official events in the Kingdom." He asserted that its success over the past years proves its vitality, especially with its positive impact on clubs, youth centres and our national teams.
A'ali and Al Naser Secure First Goalless Stalemate
The match between A'ali Club and Al Naser Club in Group 3 ended goallessly; the first time such a result emerges in the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League. Both teams' players succeeded in defending their goals valiantly to maintain a clean sheet. However, A'ali Club had the upper hand throughout the game, but several missed opportunities mean they will have to be content with one point in addition to the best player of the match award which went to their player Mohammed Abdullah's whose efforts captured the eyes of the spectators attending Wednesday's matches, held at Khalifa Sports City. Meanwhile, Samaheej Club opened their campaign in the league with a precious 3-0 win in Group 4. Ali Hussain, who scored Samaheej Club's second goal, was named the best man of the match. Meanwhile, Sar Club crushed Nuwaidrat Club 9-0 in Group 3. HussainHameed, who scored two goals for his team was named the best man of the match. In the last match on Wednesday, Mustafa Yaqoub inspired Dar Kulaib to a 7-2 victory over Muqabah Club in Group 4 to win the best man of the match award in the process, after finding the next on six occasions.
