Russian Defense Ministry: Two Drones Over A Military Base In Lattakia, Syria Destroyed

BAGHDAD, The Russian Defense Ministry announced a new attack by two planes on its air base in Hameimim in Lattakia province had been foiled.

"The regular air defense destroyed the two air targets a long distance from Hameimim airport," the head of the Russian Coordination Center in Hameimim Alexei Zigankov said.

The destruction of the two targets "did not result in casualties or material damage," Zigankov said, noting "Hameimim base was operating according to the normal system.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Thursday the downing of a drone that was approaching the base of Hameimim. The ministry also announced foiling four attacks by drones on the base during the last month.
