Head of the Supreme Islamic Shia Council, Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan, met on Wednesday with Swiss Ambassador to Lebanon, Monika Schmutz Kirgoz, who came on a protocol visit.
Talks reportedly touched on the current general situation in Lebanon and the broader region, in addition to the Lebanese-Swiss bilateral relations and the means to bolster them.
During the meeting, conferees highlighted the necessity to revive dialogue between civilizations and religions to establish peace among people.
"Peace cannot be established in our region unless justice is made to the downtrodden Palestinian people, the Zionist occupation of out lands ends, and the Palestinian refugees return to their home in Palestine," Qabalan stressed to his guest.
"This occupation entity is threatening peace in the region, and it is responsible for all the regional crises," he added.
He also hoped the formation of national government in the nearest time possible.
