GCC health committee holds meeting

Kuwait City, The GCC Ministers of health Committee held the 4th meeting in Kuwait. Chaired by Shaikh Dr. Basel bin Hamoud Al-Sabah, Minister of Health in Kuwait, and the participation of Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani, The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Dr. Basel delivered a speech praising the sincere efforts made by the GCC Health Ministers to enhance the process of integration and coordination through the health programs.

That achieves the objectives of the comprehensive development of the GCC States. Expressing his pride in the Gulf Health Council, as one of the distinguished models praised for its achievements on regional and international levels.

The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council also made a statement in which he expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, Chairman of the current session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, for the continuous support and the blessed efforts of their Majesty and Highness the leaders of GCC countries to advance and strengthen the GCC Collaborative work, and achieve the aspirations of GCC citizens towards more cooperation, interdependence and integration.

He also praised the sincere efforts made by their Excellency the Health Ministers, to improve the health services in the GCC countries, and the concrete efforts to enhance coordination, cooperation and integration in the health fields in support of the GCC Collaborative work.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani also expressed his pride in the achievements made by the committee within a short period of its establishment to promote the Collaborative health work among GCC countries, Which culminated in the decisions of the Supreme Council, that is of great importance to all GCC citizens, Regarding executive regulations of equality for the GCC Citizens to benefit from the health services and public hospitals in the GCC countries, and the examination of expatriate workers, which is an important decision as it is considered the first wall in protecting the Gulf health security.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani expressed sincere congratulations to His Excellency the Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, on recognizing Al-Deraiya and Jalajel as healthy cities by the World Health Organization, and Shaikh Dr. Bassil Al-Sabah, Minister of Health in Kuwait, on recognizing Yarmouk as a healthy city too, following Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and Sohar in Oman.
