Baghdad, Minister of Finance Ali Abdul Amir Allawi confirmed that more than 10% of the employees are aliens and dual salaries.
Allawi said in a televised statement: “The economic situation is bad and we are working to strengthen it through non-oil resources,” noting that “more than 10% of the employees are of delusory and double salaries.”
He added, “We are fighting corruption with full force in all state institutions,” noting that “Al-Kadhimi government cannot be blamed for the financial problems Iraq is going through.”
On Iraq’s relations with Saudi Arabia, Allawi stressed, “There are great opportunities for Saudi private sector investment in Iraq,“ noting that” Iraq needs to take its political and economic position away from the axis policy.”
Allawi continued, “Important agreements will be signed during Al-Kadhimi’s visit to Saudi Arabia on Monday,” explaining that “the opening of the ports with Saudi Arabia will soon be for commercial exchange.”
