The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed deep concern over the military escalation in Yemen, citing the recent Israeli attacks on Hodeidah Governorate. In a statement, Al-Budaiwi said the event exacerbates the current tension in the region and disrupts the ongoing efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip and reach a political solution in Yemen. He stressed that the continuation of military operations threatens regional and international security and stability, aggravating the humanitarian situation. Al-Budaiwi called on all parties to exercise self-restraint and urged the international community and key nations to fulfill their responsibility in ending the conflict. He confirmed the tireless efforts of GCC member countries to end the war in Gaza and support peace endeavors in Yemen. Manama,The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) participated for the first time in Youth City 2030 in its 13th edition with its Space Station Programme for ages 9-14. Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, NSSA CEO, underscored the importance of creating a generation that is fully aware of the significance of space sciences and their role in positioning Bahrain as a leading country in this field. He added that the NSSA is committed to raising awareness among the community about space sciences. Dr. Al Aseeri mentioned that the programme was developed by NSSA employees from the satellite and ground station construction team, and the space image and data analysis team. The teams reviewed the best internationally approved training curricula for this age group while preparing the programme. He further explained that the programme primarily aims to introduce astronomy and space sciences, the types of spacecraft, and methods of manufacturing them. Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met yesterday in Riyadh with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mahmoud Esmat. During the meeting, the ministers discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of oil, gas, electricity, renewable energy, and hydrogen, aiming to achieve their common aspirations in these fields, in alignment. This cooperation aligns with the vision of the leaderships of the two brotherly countries and the ambitions of their peoples. Airports are assessed based on 11 operational performance standards, which align with strategic objectives to enhance services and ensure a seamless traveler experience at Kingdom airports. The report ranked King Khalid International Airport, King Fahd International Airport, Abha International Airport, Al-Ahsa International Airport, and Qurayyat Airport highly. GACA categorizes airports for performance evaluation based on annual passenger numbers, ensuring a transparent approach. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh secured the top spot in the category of airports with more than 15 million passengers annually, with an 82% compliance rate. Following closely behind was King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at 64%. In the category of international airports serving 5 to 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport tied for first pl ace, with a 91% compliance rate. Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport followed with a 82% compliance rate. In the 2 to 5 million annual passenger category, Abha International Airport and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jizan demonstrated a 100% compliance rate. However, Abha International Airport outperformed King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport by surpassing higher targets in the specified evaluation criteria. In the category of less than 2 million passengers annually, Al-Ahsa International Airport achieved a 100% compliance rate, outperforming its competitors regarding average waiting time for departing and arriving flights. Qurayyat Airport came first in the domestic airport category, with a 100% compliance rate. It outperformed all competing airports regarding average waiting time for departing and arriving flights.
