BOC arrests 13 suspects, including a journalist impersonator

The detachments of Baghdad Joint Operations Command arrested 13 accused according to various legal articles in Baghdad. The command stated in a statement: "Our detachments were able to arrest 13 accused, one of whom was caught with (foreign passports) in his possession that he was not authorized to carry, and another impersonating a "journalist", indicating the seizure of two pistols, one rifle, a number of vehicles and motorcycles violating traffic controls, a quantity of narcotic substances and drug use devices, in addition to expired medicines on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa. Dubai Fashion Week kicks off spring-summer 2025 programme tomorrow

Dubai, Dubai Fashion Week (DFW), the city's official fashion week co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council, launches its Spring-Summer 2025 edition on September 2. Kicking off a week-long celebration of season-defining trends and exclusive launches, DFW will reinforce the city's status as a global fashion capital with a spotlight on established and emerging designers from around the world. 9 schools out of 61 opened in Diwaniyah Governorate

The Ministry of Education announced the opening of 9 schools as an initial batch out of 61 within the Chinese loan in Diwaniyah Governorate. The Ministry of Education stated in a statement that "the signs of the Iraqi-Chinese agreement began to appear after the opening of nine schools that meet the comprehensive quality standards in Diwaniyah as a first batch out of (61) whose construction will be completed before the end of this year." The statement explained that "this project targets densely populated areas in an initiative to end the crisis of overcrowding in classrooms while providing an ideal environment with the start of the new school year." The Ministry of Planning announces the launch of the numbering and enumeration phase of the population census

The Ministry of Planning announced today, Sunday, the launch of the numbering and enumeration phase for the population census, which will last for two months. The ministry stated in a statement, "This phase includes a comprehensive numbering and enumeration of housing, buildings and facilities in all governorates of Iraq, with the participation of more than 30,000 trained and qualified researchers, distributed throughout the country to implement this vital task." The statement added, "During this phase, all housing, buildings and facilities will be visited to number and enumerate them and determine their occupancy, specifications and characteristics in order to prepare the framework for the census phase, which will be implemented on 11-20-2024." It pointed out that "the most prominent features of this stage are: packaging shops and villages and dividing them into small blocks, through which each researcher can number and list all homes, buildings and facilities within the scope of his work responsibility. N umbering buildings: Numbering all residential and non-residential buildings and facilities in a systematic manner that facilitates the process of determining locations and providing various services. Population census: Data will be collected on the number of families and their members, and workers in facilities according to gender, nationality and work sectors. The ministry called on "honorable families and all citizens to cooperate with researchers and provide the required information with complete transparency, because it will benefit everyone and represent a qualitative shift in the census process, to provide accurate data that will contribute to building a better future for Iraq." According to the statement, the General Authority for Statistics and Geographic Information Systems called on "all media outlets to contribute to educating citizens about the importance of the census, and encouraging them to participate effectively in this national project." Anti-Crime Department arrests two suspects for committing robberies in Baghdad

The Baghdad Crime Control Directorate detachments arrested two suspects wanted under the provisions of Articles (443, 446) for committing thefts in various areas of Baghdad. The directorate stated in a statement: "The arrest took place after forming a joint task force from the detachments of Habibiya Office and Adhamiya Office for Combating Crime, and after the detachments received information about the whereabouts of the accused. It added: "After besieging and raiding the house, they opened fire on the detachments with a rifle and a pistol and threw hand grenades, and they responded in kind, took control of the alley, arrested the accused, seized the rifle and pistol, and legal measures were taken against them to bring them to justice to receive their just punishment.
