World Endurance Champion awarded in official ceremony

Monpazier, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, was officially awarded the gold medal after being crowned champion of the 160 km FEI World Endurance Championship 2024 in Monpazier, France. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment; other dignitaries; and the children of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad. HH Shaikh Nasser and the Royal Endurance Team celebrated the victory, which was met with widespread applause from the audience. The horse Everest La Majorie was awarded the Best Horse Condition Award. This marks the second consecutive year that His Highness Shaikh Nasser has secured the world tit le, following his victory in the previous championship held in Bou Thib, UAE. His Highness completed the race in 8 hours and 32 minutes, ahead of the UAE's Saeed Ahmed Al Harbi, who finished second, and France's Melody Theolissat, who took third. Saudi Arabia receives flag for hosting 2025 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

New Delhi, Saudi Arabia has officially received the flag for hosting the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Riyadh in 2025 for the first time in its history. The announcement was made during the 44th Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly in India, attended by Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Musaed, Vice President of Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Baeshen, Secretary-General and CEO of SOPC, and other princes, ministers, and heads of national Olympic committees from Asia. The General Assembly approved the reappointment of SOPC President Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal as Vice President of the OCA for the Asian Games. It elected Prince Fahd bin Jalawi as Chair of the Education Committee for the second consecutive term. Also, the CEO of the Saudi Olympic Academy, Al-Batool Baroom, was appointed as vice chair of the Sport and Peace Committee, along with the appointment of other committee chairs within the OCA. Prince Fahd bin Jalawi, on behalf of Prince Abdulaz iz bin Turki, received the Games flag from OCA President Raja Randhir Singh, and a representative from Thailand. The assembly also saw Singh elected as OCA President for the next four years, making him the first official Indian president of the council after serving as acting president since 2021. The executive board, including the vice presidents and board members, were also elected. The General Assembly discussed several reports, most notably on the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (Riyadh 2025), the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, scheduled for February 2025, the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, capital of Japan's Aichi Prefecture, in 2026.
