Lebanese media reported that Israel detonated, using high technology, hundreds of handheld wireless communication devices for Hezbollah members in the most populated area in the country, resulting in many injuries. According to information, the pagers exploded with their carriers in the southern suburbs of Beirut and the Bekaa in eastern Lebanon and the south (Nabatieh, Al-Hawsh, Bint Jbeil, Tyre). Media outlets and social media platforms circulated pictures showing a large gathering of citizens at the accident sites. It is noteworthy that the "pager" is a paging device or a small electronic device that is easy to carry and is used to receive short messages or the number of the person trying to contact the device. The Chairman of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi signed a memorandum of understanding with the Director General of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) Alexei Likhachev, in the fields of bilateral cooperation. According to a statement by the ministry, on the sidelines of the 68th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Al-Aboudi announced that this memorandum is the first of its kind in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy that Iraq has signed after 2003 and is the first for the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission after the enactment of its law. He continued that the bilateral memorandum of understanding is of particular importance as it is a roadmap for joint work in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy, stressing the importance of its success and implementing its paragraphs in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries, noting that Iraq and its specialized educat ional institutions are keen to support the fields of nuclear physics and nuclear engineering and organize the context of cooperation with the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) in this field, appreciating at the same time the provision of scholarships for Iraqi students to develop specialized technical cadres in Iraq. For his part, Director of ROSATOM Alexei Likhachev expressed the seriousness of the Russian side in coordinating between the two countries in order to embody the bilateral memorandum of understanding in the form of joint scientific programs in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to focus in his upcoming speech at the United Nations on the ongoing Israeli attacks and massacres committed against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7 of last year. Nablus - Ma'an - A 9-year-old child was killed in a run-over accident on Jerusalem Street, east of Nablus.
