Al-Baha:The Al-Baha Region Municipality has been actively engaged in cleaning 80 road culverts and clearing 580 storm drains as part of its preparations for the upcoming rainy season. These measures are intended to ensure the free flow of rainwater and floodwater, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the drainage network.
According to Saudi Press Agency, municipal crews have also focused on removing obstacles and sediment from valley and stream channels. This includes opening waterways to prevent water from pooling in low-lying and flood-prone areas. With rainfall already affecting the region, efforts have been made to clear branches, vegetation, rocks, and soil that have been washed into culverts and drains.
The municipality has intensified field inspections and is closely monitoring areas susceptible to water accumulation or flash floods. This proactive approach aims to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of residents and road users. Additionally, the municipality has urged citizens and residents to adhere to safety guidelines during rain, avoid flood channels and valleys, and report any concerns through official channels.
