Al-baha: Al-Baha Municipality launched a pioneering platform designed to empower licensed street vendors, the first of its kind globally, at Cityscape Global in Riyadh. Advisor at the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing's human capability development agency, Princess Nujood bint Hathloul bin Abdulaziz, who is supervising the street vendors empowerment file, inaugurated the prototype at the municipality's pavilion.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the innovative platform, pronounced 'Wajha' (meaning 'destination'), goes far beyond traditional delivery apps or digital mapping tools. It introduces an integrated model that blends trusted government compliance with authentic tourism experiences. The platform represents the world's first digital ecosystem of its kind, the municipality stressed, successfully addressing what is often described as the traveler's greatest dilemma: seeking authentic local experiences while ensuring safety and quality standards.
The system is directly linked to the national Balady Platform database, ensuring safe authenticity, as only vendors with valid permits and up-to-date health certifications appear on the map. This guarantees visitors and residents a fully trusted and high-quality experience.
