Al-jouf: The Olive Exhibition, part of the 19th Al-Jouf International Olive Festival organized by the region's municipality, continues to establish Al-Jouf as the capital of olive oil, offering visitors a comprehensive educational and economic experience that showcases the olive tree's journey from planting to harvest and production.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this year's Olive Exhibition has seen remarkable international participation, featuring seven olive-producing countries, alongside 45 local farmers and 10 agricultural companies, all displaying their finest crops and oils. The exhibition underscores the agricultural potential of Al-Jouf Region, home to over 23 million olive trees with an annual production exceeding 150,000 tons of table olives, making it a prime destination for international companies and local producers to exchange expertise and explore new export markets.
To ensure the quality of the exhibits, Al-Jouf Municipality subjects them to seven rigorous laboratory tests, including assessments for acidity, rancidity, and commercial adulteration. No product is allowed for sale at the exhibition without a valid "approved label."
Festival CEO Omar Al-Hamwan confirmed that international participation in previous editions, as well as this year's event, enhances the festival's status as a global platform. The festival aims to leverage purchasing power, highlight the competitive advantages of Al-Jouf olives, and establish strategic partnerships between local producers and international markets.
