Al-Kharj Governor Launches Identity of Saudi Dates and Coffee Festival

Al-kharj: Governor of Al-Kharj Prince Fahd bin Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz launched the identity of the second edition of the Al-Kharj Festival of Saudi Dates and Coffee today. The festival is set to commence on January 25 and aims to enhance the economic profile of the governorate.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the festival will serve as a platform to showcase Al-Kharj's rich agricultural heritage and its commitment to sustainable development. It also seeks to bolster Al-Kharj's reputation as a key agricultural, tourism, and economic hub. The governor highlighted the importance of the festival in supporting local farmers and producers, while also expanding marketing opportunities for Al-Kharj's products.

Al-Kharj boasts approximately 1.47 million palm trees, with around 1.19 million of these being fruit-bearing. The region produces over 90,000 tons of dates annually, spanning more than 25 varieties, with a market value surpassing SAR700 million.
