Arab League and South Africa Discuss Regional Developments and Coordination.

Cairo: Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit met today with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Naledi Pandor, at the League's headquarters in Cairo. Their discussions focused on regional developments, including Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon. According to Saudi Press Agency, they reviewed efforts to end the violence, particularly following the recent Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit. Additionally, they discussed the tripartite agreement between the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the African Union Commission (AUC), which aims to support the Palestinian cause. The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing on the importance of continuing and strengthening communication and coordination between the Arab League and South Africa. This is especially crucial for addressing regional issues of common concern raised in international forums.
