Salalah: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit strongly condemned the drone attack that targeted the strategic Port of Salalah in Oman, which caused damage to several fuel storage tanks inside the port.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Aboul Gheit expressed surprise at the targeting of a country that had sought to spare the region and Iran the consequences of war through notable mediation efforts. He reiterated that deliberately targeting civilian and vital facilities in the Gulf region poses a direct threat to the daily lives of civilians.
He added that polluting the marine environment and sinking large oil tankers in a semi-enclosed sea, along with potential impacts on desalination plants and the risk of oil facility explosions, represent dangerous behavior that contradicts the principles of international humanitarian law.
