Arab League to Host MIL & Global Understanding Conference 22-24 April

Cairo, The Arab League will host the 'Media and Information Literacy and Global Understanding: Peace for all' conference in Cairo from April 22 to 24. The conference is organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in cooperation with the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance. Global experts and representatives of media and cultural organizations will participate in the conference. Over three days, the conference will discuss leveraging media and information to bridge the gaps among people, foster dialogue, and enhance intercultural understanding, the Arab League said in a statement on Thursday. Furthermore, the conference aims to shed light on the significance of media culture in shaping public awareness and directing public opinion towards issues of peace and peaceful coexistence. The conference will highlight the role of technology and information in achieving these goals. It will also underline the importance of media culture in developing the skills o f critical analysis of media content and enhancing the ability to tell the difference between real and fake news.
