Attacks on Saudi Facilities Violate International Law, Says ARCO

Hanoi:The General Secretariat of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) has condemned recent attacks on airports and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia, describing them as a significant threat to civilian safety and regional stability.

According to Saudi Press Agency, ARCO emphasized that these attacks contravene international conventions and norms. The organization highlighted the importance of distinguishing between military and civilian targets, adhering to the principle of proportionality, and taking necessary precautions to protect civilians, which are fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.

ARCO expressed its rejection of any violations impacting civilians or infrastructure and called for accountability for actions breaching international humanitarian laws. The organization also warned that such attacks impede international efforts to alleviate humanitarian crises and prevent the spread of conflicts, urging respect for international law and conventions.
