Civil Defense Issues Thunderstorm Alert for Saudi Arabia from Wednesday to Monday

Riyadh: The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a warning to the public regarding upcoming thunderstorms expected to affect various regions in Saudi Arabia starting from Wednesday through Monday. The public is urged to exercise caution, stay in safe locations, avoid areas prone to flash floods and valleys, refrain from swimming in these areas, and adhere to instructions disseminated via media outlets and social media platforms.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the directorate has highlighted that the Makkah Region is likely to experience heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash floods, hail, and dust storms. The Riyadh Region is also expected to witness similar weather conditions, with heavy rainfall anticipated to result in flash floods, hail, and dust storms.

The alert further indicates that several other regions, including Tabuk, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Madinah, Al-Baha, Aseer, Jazan, Najran, Hail, Qassim, and Eastern regions, are expected to be affected by moderate to heavy rainfall. This weather pattern may also lead to flash floods, hail, and dust storms, prompting the directorate to advise residents and travelers in these areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
