Makkah: The General Directorate of Civil Defense urged the public to exercise caution and remain in safe areas. It warned against approaching floodwaters, entering valleys, or swimming in them, and called for adherence to instructions issued through official media and social platforms.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the warning comes as thunderstorms are expected to continue across most regions of the Kingdom until next Sunday. Civil Defense said, citing the National Center for Meteorology (NCM), that the Makkah Region will be affected by moderate to heavy rainfall that may lead to flash floods, hail, and strong winds causing dust and sandstorms.
Riyadh Region is also expected to experience similar conditions across several governorates. It added that Tabuk, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Hail, Madinah, Qassim, Al-Baha, Aseer, Jazan, and Eastern regions will also be affected by moderate to heavy rainfall and associated weather conditions.
