Commerce Ministry Conducts Extensive Ramadan Market Monitoring in Madinah

Madinah: The monitoring teams of the Ministry of Commerce in Madinah Region continue to conduct intensive inspection tours of markets during Ramadan, which coincides with the increased influx of visitors to Madinah. These efforts are carried out in cooperation with relevant authorities to ensure the availability and safety of goods and to verify compliance by commercial establishments and sales outlets with consumer protection regulations.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the teams have conducted 11,857 field inspections at sales outlets since the beginning of Ramadan. They also received 2,180 reports and issued 241 immediate violation notices to non-compliant commercial establishments.

The ministry noted that the seasonal plan focuses on monitoring the availability of food and essential commodities to meet consumer demand, ensuring product safety, tracking prices of food and supply items, and verifying that goods are not hoarded in ways that could disrupt market supply and demand.
