Council of Senior Scholars Condemns Houthi Militia as Terrorist Group

Riyadh:The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars has declared the Houthi militia a terrorist group, criticizing its attacks on civilians and facilities in Yemen, which have disrupted security and sown division. The secretariat condemned the militia's aggression against innocent people and its attempted attacks on the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the secretariat's statement emphasized that the Houthi militia's actions reveal the extent of its terrorism and audacity in violating Allah's sanctities. The statement highlighted that the militia's attempted attacks on Makkah and Madinah constitute terrorism by any measure.

The secretariat further compared the militia's terrorism to that of extremist groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda, noting that it also spreads corruption and commits aggression against Muslims. The statement described the targeting of visitors to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque as a grave sin and act of aggression, thwarted by the vigilance of Saudi air defenses and the capabilities of the Saudi Armed Forces.

The secretariat highlighted various forms of aggression committed by the militia, including violations of human life, property, security, and stability, and attempts to violate Muslim holy sites. It urged all Muslims to denounce the actions of the Houthi militia and stand united against any attacks on their holy sites.
