Darah Expands Access to Historical Sources through Audio Summaries

Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz Foundation (Darah) continues to promote knowledge of Saudi history through its audio summaries initiative, King Abdulaziz Through the Eyes of His Contemporaries. The initiative enables the public to listen to concise summaries of prominent books written by contemporaries of King Abdulaziz, documenting their observations of his character, the events surrounding the unification of the Kingdom, and the political and social transformations witnessed across the Arabian Peninsula.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative forms part of Darah's efforts to develop modern methods for disseminating historical knowledge and making original historical sources available in contemporary digital formats that accommodate evolving content-consumption patterns. It also aims to make historical material more accessible to researchers, students, history enthusiasts, and the general public.

The initiative is based on a collection of books representing firsthand accounts by authors who lived during the reign of King Abdulaziz or visited the Arabian Peninsula during that period. These works carry significant scholarly and documentary value, contributing to a deeper understanding of historical events in their proper context while highlighting the Kingdom's founding era through the accounts of those who witnessed it.

The audio summaries are available through Darah's official audio channels on global platforms. They can also be accessed through the audio media library on the foundation's official website.
