Makkah: Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, chaired the first meeting of the Hajj and Umrah Committee to review plans and preparations for the 1446 AH Hajj season. This meeting was held under the directive of Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Saud bin Mishaal emphasized the importance of early preparation and the integration of efforts across all sectors to provide essential services to pilgrims. He highlighted the commitment of the Government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to ensuring a smooth spiritual journey for pilgrims by mobilizing all necessary resources.
The meeting included presentations from various participating entities on their operational readiness and the progress of development projects in the holy sites. A significant focus was on afforestation and green cover projects aimed at planting 10,000 trees to enhance air quality and reduce temperatures for pilgrims.
Several other agenda items were addressed during the meeting, and the committee issued recommendations to ensure the successful execution of plans for the upcoming Hajj season.
