Makkah: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture launched an awareness campaign to promote the consumption of local food products during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the campaign aims to encourage the consumption of domestic agricultural products and their processed derivatives. It also seeks to support farmers and producers, increase agricultural output, and enhance self-sufficiency. The initiative aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to build a sustainable agricultural sector.
The initiative focuses on raising awareness of the importance of consuming agricultural and livestock products. It also strengthens reliance on local content, including dates, red meat, olive oil, dairy products, honey, poultry, millet, citrus fruits, and other national products.
The ministry noted that locally produced goods are distinguished by high quality and strong nutritional value. This reflects the strength of national production and its capacity to efficiently meet the needs of those fasting during the holy month.
