Falcon Veterinary Care System Aids in Disease Diagnosis and Feather Repair

Jakarta:According to Saudi Press Agency, an integrated veterinary care system for falcons involves clinical and laboratory examinations, X-ray imaging, fracture treatment, and feather repair. These services play a crucial role in diagnosing diseases, treating injuries, and ensuring the preservation of feather integrity to maintain flight efficiency.

The system follows a structured procedure that starts with documenting the falcon's information and conducting a comprehensive medical examination. Necessary tests and analyses are performed to assess the health of the falcon, determining the appropriate treatment based on the results and the veterinarian's evaluation.

Nasser Al-Ajmi, the owner of a bird hospital, detailed that the process begins with registering the owner's details and the falcon's microchip identification number. The falcon is then weighed and taken to the examination room, where tests using a microscope and an endoscope are conducted.

Al-Ajmi emphasized the importance of ensuring the falcon's crop is empty before administering anesthesia. Isoflurane inhalation anesthesia is used to facilitate the examination of the mouth, throat, and crop, checking for inflammation and signs of disease. Blood samples are collected for further analysis.

He stated that clinical and laboratory examinations are complementary in diagnosing falcon diseases, with their results helping to identify medical issues and guide treatment procedures tailored to each case's needs.
